A new kind of food pantry

Care and Share Food Bank’s mission is bold: to end hunger in Southern Colorado.

And as they continue to grow their reach to feed more people—the Rangers are bananas about helping them achieve that mission! The Food Bank opened up their first food pantries—located in Pueblo and Fountain—with a unique approach. At Sunny Side Market, the “shopping” experience is just like any other grocery story—with shopping baskets, checkout lanes and an abundance of fresh fruits, pantry stables and hearty breads. The only difference: it’s all free.

The joy of Sunny Side Market can be felt in the illustrated fruits and vegetables subtly animating down the page—while animated flourishes add surprise-and-delight. Because food equity is an important principle of Care and Share Food Bank, the site can be easily translated to Spanish right within the navigation. Little by little, Care and Share is removing the stigma around food insecurity—one dancing rutabaga at a time!
