For an elderly homecare and transportation service provider, we recently made the following recommendation based on their traffic analytics:

"Currently, the greatest percentage of your traffic (36%) is between the ages of 25-34 years old. For a nonprofit serving the elderly and disabled, this statistic is worth noting. Based on this data–and supported by qualitative research–we know that children and younger family members are using your site to understand what services you provide and if you are the right choice for their loved one.

Children and younger family members are one of the top decision makers—making the highest percentage of purchasing decisions on your site.

Since the website was originally developed with the end user in mind (aged 65+)—not the end user's family member—we believe it will be invaluable to create a landing page specifically directed towards these family members:

  • What are their specific concerns?
  • How do we relieve a burden for them of having to transport their parent or family member while juggling their own life and schedule?
  • How can we speak to them uniquely where they're at, empathizing with them and offering solutions to their challenges? The more someone feels like "you get them," the more likely they are to convert.
  • Within this landing page, can we use key phrases that would typically be generated by this demographic when searching Google for transportation or homecare services for a loved one.

A popular plugin used by over 1 million sites experienced a vulnerability that enabled hackers to override the sites and take them down. Without Ranger Web Care, a nonprofit client of ours went 48 hours with their website down—during a crucial time in which they were actively providing relief and accepting donations during the COVID-19 crisis. 

Based on new Google Maps billing requirements, a local food bank’s pantry locator crashed after 100K requests to the page in a single month—cutting off access for visitors to find the food they needed.

After attempting to update the site’s plugins themselves, a nonprofit providing transportation services to the elderly and disabled couldn’t even update their homepage to let visitors know their phone lines were down. The site had to be backed up, restored and then each plugin required an audit to diagnose the issue.
